Animal-free dairy is dairy made without any animals. All our products are made with a milk protein (whey protein) that’s identical to the whey protein found in cow’s milk but made through a precision fermentation process (a lot like brewing beer) with no animals involved.

Brave Robot is lactose-free! Lactose is a naturally occurring sugar in cow’s milk, and the animal-free whey protein we use is produced through precision fermentation, not cow’s milk, so there is no lactose. (Fun fact: 68% of people have trouble digesting lactose.)

Brave Robot contains milk allergens (animal-free whey protein). Since the animal-free whey protein we use is molecularly identical to whey protein from cow’s milk, we encourage anyone with a milk allergy to exercise the same precautions they would with traditional dairy.
